Matthew 18:3and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by nomeansenter the kingdom of heaven.  (NKJV)

Jesus uses this idea of the older mind of the unredeemed sinner, having to be converted back to the mind of a little child…or they will by nomeansenter the kingdom of heaven.”   A little child is helpless, innocent, and trusting their parent for ever single need of their young lives…  They haven’t amassed material possessions, or made achievements which will hinder their capability of humbling themselves before the Lord…

What better example for the Christian, than the simple mind of a young child…  God’s requirements for His children are really pretty simple…  We are called to love the Lord with all of our heart, mind, and soul…all of the time…Matthew 22:36-40…   We are called to put our faith and trust in the Lord, no matter what life brings our way…

Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths(NKJV)

God must be our Lord and Master, first and foremost…above anything, or anyone else…Exodus 20:1-6…   And once the unredeemed sinner becomes righteous in God’s eyes, God promises to provide for all of their needs…Matthew 6:33But seekfirst the kingdom of God and Hisrighteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  (NKJV)

Christians are called to abide in God’s love, and to be obedient to God’s will…John 15:10-12If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that yourjoy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you loveone another as I have lovedyou.  (NKJV)

And just like all good parents never let their toddler out of their sight…we as God’s children must always remember that God promises to always be there for us…Hebrews 13:5-6Let yourconduct be without covetousness; becontent with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will neverleave you norforsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”  (NKJV)

Ohand don’t forget to be content with what God gives you, as this scripture above instructs Christians…  The Apostle Paul reminds us this, in…Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedinglyabundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, (NKJV)

Heavenly Father, I pray that we as Your children can put aside our own agenda…and unconditionally love You, as we remain obedient to Your will and Your ways…  Help all of us turn from our sins, and seek to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-20), so that our joy may be full…  I pray for this perfect peace in all of our lives, that only You can provide…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills
