Romans 10:16… But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (NKJV)
Today I write for a friend I had spoken to a few weeks ago, that I had reason to call today about a business quote… At our last meeting, after our business was discussed, I was urged by the Holy Spirit to ask him a personal question about his thoughts on the importance of going to church… He informed me, that neither he nor his wife went to church…indicating that it was of little importance to either one of them…
The Holy Spirit speaks to me all the time… Some people seem to think it strange when I tell them about the Holy Spirit urging me to do this or to do that… But friends, I am here to tell you that responding positively to the urging of the Holy Spirit, is exactly how the Spirit filled Christian’s life is kept on track, to live in a way that will be pleasing to our Father in heaven…Galatians 5:16…
If the Holy Spirit isn’t alive, and in total control of a Christian’s life…they are either a Christian who is living with unconfessed sin, and grieving the Holy Spirit…Ephesians 4:30…or they are not a Christian in God’s eyes, no matter what they believe in their own minds… I spent two days writing about false faith last week, which anyone so inclined can read by going to www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com and typing in 5/24/2013…or…5/25/2013 into the search window…
The sad fact is that less than 25% of people in America go to church on a regular basis…and some of these people are going to church, because they falsely believe it is a requirement for their faith… This “works based” salvation, where “good works done in the name of the Lord” is required to have sins forgiven…is the false faith I wrote about on 5/25/2013 with biblical scripture to back up my writing…
Getting back to the Holy Spirit speaking to me…take a look at this confirming (and hopefully eye opening) scripture, written by the Apostle Paul, in…Romans 8:15-16… For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The SpiritHimself bears witness with our spirit that wearechildren of God, (NKJV)
When I hung up the phone with my friend…after concluding the business I had called him about…the Holy Spirit reminded me that I didn’t ask him if he had a chance to read the two days writing I spoke to him about… I had written down the 2 dates I thought might benefit him on my church’s business card, along with the web site I have listed above…
Friends, I am here to tell you, that all Christians are called to always follow the urging of the Holy Spirit… I have failed to do so in the past, and it just isn’t any fun being told later by the Holy Spirit that I wasn’t listening, or decided my way was best…after failing to respond to the Holy Spirit’s urging… Even if I am uncomfortable about sharing my faith…or it might not have been an urging from the Holy Spirit that caused me to speak to someone, out of my love and concern for their eternal future…I am determined that I would rather be wrong, than to disappoint the Lord…
I called my friend back, just to find out if he had read the writing I had suggested to him… The opening scripture reveals the key to eternal life in heaven with the Lord, upon our death… God’s grace comes through understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… Saving faith alone in Jesus Christ, is what God’s grace is based upon…Ephesians 2:8-9… The opening scripture ends with this…“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”…
Jesus tells us the way to heaven, for those that have the eyes to see and the ears to hear (Matthew 13:23)…when Jesus tells us this, in… John 14:6… Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. Noone comes to the Father except through Me.” (NKJV) The “way” is through obedience to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… (See link at the bottom for more on God’s grace) The “truth”is found in the Word of God, and it will set the sinner free from Satan’s chains of bondage to sin…John 8:32… “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” And the “life”that Jesus speaks of, is eternal life in heaven with His Father…
My writing for today was based upon what I believe the Holy Spirit led me to do… And I am led to share the fact with my friend, that today’s writing was just for him… God uses His children to share the good news of the gospel of His Son Jesus Christ… Right or wrong, I am doing as I am led to do… I am here to please God, not man…1 Thessalonians 2:4… But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts. (NKJV)
I will finish with just one more eye opening scripture, for those who choose to disregard responding to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… The Apostle Paul writes this warning in…
2 Thessalonians 1:8-9… in flamingfire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who donotobey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (NKJV)
Heavenly Father, I pray Your Word would cut right to the very core of the soul of anyone that You don’t know as a Christian, and one of Your redeemed children…Hebrews 4:11-13…(Look it up readers !!) Open their eyes Lord, and draw them to Yourself…John 6:44… I pray for hearts and lives to be changed by You for an eternity, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
Blessings in Christ, bruce r mills
P.S. Here is a link for this most important days writing, about how God’s grace is received to become a Christian in God’s eyes; through obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…
Well put! God bless you 😄
