1 Corinthians 2:14But the naturalman does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  (NKJV)

In my writing yesterday for a friend, I wrote about how the believer should always listen and respond positively to the leading of the Holy Spirit living with-in them…  This is the only way a Christian can remain righteous in God’s sight…  The Apostle Paul calls this Walking in the Spirit, when he pens this, in…Galatians 5:16I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall notfulfill the lust of the flesh.   (NKJV)   Since our flesh will be with us until the day we pass on from this life…this is a pretty bold statement for the Apostle Paul to make…

I wrote about how some people think it strange, when I tell them about how the Holy Spirit urges me all the time to do this or to do that…  I came across this opening scripture today, and thought I would continue on from yesterdays writing…  The naturalman in the opening scripture, is describing an unbeliever, who would be the one who finds it strange, when I speak of the Holy Spirit constantly urging me to listen and obey

All people are born with a conscience… This is God’s way to give all human beings a chance to know right from wrong…  But the power to be able to remain walking in the Spirit…to be able to say no to our own carnal flesh or Satan’s temptations to sin…this is supernatural power that God only gives to His redeemed children, as a lifelong Helper (the Holy Spirit)…to direct their lives in a godly manner…John 14:26

I quote the following (hopefully eye opening) scripture written by the Apostle Paul, often…because it is confirmation that the Holy Spirit speaks to the Christian, confirming that they are indeed a child of God…

Romans 8:15-16For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The SpiritHimself bears witness with our spirit that wearechildren of God, (NKJV)

My message yesterday described what true saving faith in Jesus Christ is all about…and how it is a gift of God God graces His new child with salvation, after they understand and obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…  We see the Apostle Paul explaining that receiving the Word through obedience to the gospel of Christ is obscured, to those who are still living in the world of sin and shame (perishing), with Satan as their father…John 8:44   You can find yesterdays writing @  www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com

2 Corinthians 4:3-4…  But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.  (NKJV)

I spend most of my time yesterday, writing about how God uses His Word to open the eyes of those whose minds the god of this age has blinded…and to train the man of God to…“be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work”…2 Timothy 3:16-17…  For the “born again” Christian, God’s Word is the source of spiritual nourishment that Jesus tells us we should feed upon…hopefully daily, in…Matthew 4:4…  The message of the cross, and its ability to regenerate hearts and lives, is considered… foolishness  to those who are perishing

The Apostle Paul uses both of these descriptive words from the scripture above, together…when he pens this scripture, in…1 Corinthians 1:18…  For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  (NKJV)

My hope and my prayers are always that God will use His living Word, to cut right to the very core of the soul of those reading today’s thoughts, that don’t yet know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior…  The writer of Hebrews pens the following scripture, revealing the fact that God’s Word is living and powerful, in…

Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.  (NKJV)

If you are reading these scripture verses, and it all seems like foolishness to you…I pray that you would spend some time reading the link I have posted at the end, on how God’s grace is receives through understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…

Heavenly Father, I thank You and praise You for who You are…  Urge all of us Lord, in what ever spiritual state we find ourselves in…to spend time daily being fed by Your Word…  Allow Your Word to dwell in all of us richly…Colossians 3:16…teaching and guiding Your children to live in Your will and Your ways…  I pray for this fullness of Christ in all of our lives…in Jesus’ most precious name and fort His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills

P.S.  Here is a link for this most important days writing, about how God’s grace is received to become a Christian in God’s eyes; through obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…
