Read Mark 11,
Psalm 81
“Allied or Mayflower?”
“I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matthew 17:20
There are movers for everything from earth to buildings, but nobody can move like God. He moved the children of Israel through the Red Sea without a scratch. He moved His presence from within the holy of holy of the temple into the hearts of all believers. He moved the Good News of the Gospel to the four corners of the World.
God’s prayer fueled moving was awesome to behold when Elisha used it to destroy the 500 prophets of Baal. Christ used it to heal the sick, give sight to the blind, to make the lame walk, and to raise the dead.
When it comes to moving mountains, Jesus reminds us that nothing is impossible for God.
Whether it is a mountain of fear or a mountain of doubt; a mountain of illness or a mountain of suffering – God specializes in moving mountains.
We see the results of God’s moving the hearts of men from unbelief to faith in the lives of the disciples, who went from fear to courageous witnessing and martyrdom without a whimper. We see God’s moving the heart of Saul, the persecutor, into Paul the sinner saved by grace.
The only things limiting God’s power are unrepented sins, unbelief and self-will seeking instead of God’s-will-seeking. He promises that whatsoever we ask in accordance with His will, will be done.
Father, give me that mountain moving faith that I might live a life fully pleasing to you and fruitful in every good work. In Jesus’ name, Amen
