Lamentations 3:22-24Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because Hiscompassions fail not. 23 They arenewevery morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”  (NKJV)

God’s gift of grace through saving faith alone in Jesus Christ, has freed the unredeemed sinner from eternal damnation… It’s not because of any self-righteous works that were done in the name of the Lord, like having to go to church every week to please God  Jesus gives us this stern warning about the danger of believing that good works done in His name will forgive sins (“Works based Salvation), in…Matthew 7:21-23  We can do nothing in our righteousness to have sins forgiven…Titus 3:5  The prophet Isaiah relates our own righteousness this way, in…

Isaiah 64:6But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthyrags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.  (NKJV)

“Praise the Lord”, should be ever on the lips of those God has graced with salvation…  The opening scripture should be in our prayers and on our hearts and minds throughout each and every new day that the Lord gives His children, to glorify His name…  But God wants His redeemed children to “Walk Worthy” of the position in His family, that they have been graced with…

This leads me to suggest that anyone who didn’t get a chance to read my writing from a few days ago, titled…“Are You Walking Worthy ??”…might want to go to www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com and type 6/18/2013 into the search window…  If you can’t answer “Yes” to all the questions…you (like most of us, including me), have some homework to do…

The Apostle Paul pens the following scripture that provides the meat of my thoughts for today’s writing, in…Romans 12:1-2I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that youpresent your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfectwill of God.  (NKJV)

The Apostle Paul repeats the idea of leaving behind our old man when we are filled with the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 5:17), and being renewed in our minds, in…Ephesians 4:22-24  that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the oldman which grows corrupt according to the deceitfullusts, 23 and berenewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the newman which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.  (NKJV)

Living in the perfectwill of Godin true righteousness and holiness should be the absolute daily (even moment to moment goal) of every Christian…  And if we as Christians are serious about pleasing our Lord, sin will not have a stronghold on our lives…  The Apostle Paul pens this, in…Romans 6:14For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under lawbut under grace.  (NKJV)

The Apostle Paul later pens this, in His last Book in the N.T. in…Titus 2:11-12For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denyingungodliness and worldly lusts, we should livesoberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, (NKJV)

Friends when we live in unconfessed sin, we are unrighteous in God’s sight… The following scripture from…Psalm 5…is thought to have been written by David at a time when he was facing many burdens, and was praying for guidance…Psalm 5:1-3 Give ear to my words, O Lord, Consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. My voiceYou shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will lookup.  (NKJV)

David was a man after God’s own heart, because God knew David would ultimately do God’s will…Acts 13:22bto whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found Davidthe son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’  (NKJV)

David finishes this short Psalm with this, in…Psalm 5:11-12But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also wholove Your name Be joyful in You. 12 For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favorYou will surround him as with a shield(NKJV)   Here is the link for this entire short Psalm…

Living in the Lord’s will as a Christian, means confessing and repenting of any sins…to again become righteous in God’s sight…1 John 1:7 & 9But if wewalk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from allunrighteousness.  (NKJV)

Every new day for God’s children, should be filled with excitement on how best we as God’s chosen children, can glorify the Lord in our actions and our deeds…  But our strength to be visible disciples of Christ can only come from a Spirit filled Christian (Ephesians 5:18-20) who is empowered by a heart filled with the love of Christ…John 13:35

Start your day with fervent prayer to the Lord, just like David…and see how God will use you to glorify His name…

Heavenly Father, help all of us who have experienced Your gift of grace through saving faith in Your Son, to be the beacons of light to those around us (Matthew 5:16), that are in need of hearing about the message of the cross…  Give us the boldness to share our faith, which only a heart filled with the love of Christ will provide…  I pray for this fullness of Christ in all of our lives, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills
