“Holding Back on God”
“Do not hold anything back when you give me the tithe of your crops and your wine” Exodus 29L29a (NLT)
God gave us His best, and we will be blessed to do no less. When we hold back God’s share of our time, talents, or treasures, we are really only holding back on ourselves.
God is always working all things for our good because we love Him and are faithful to His call to love Him and to love others.
God has never been stingy with us, and we must never be stingy with others.
Ananias and Saphirra held back on proceeds from the sale of their land, and died as a consequence for not only holding back, but for lying.
We have nothing that has not been given by God and nothing that cannot be taken away by God.
Our time is in His hands, as well as our prosperity, and opportunity to earn His “well done” while we are living out our lives in Christ.
If we are rich in treasures, we have been made rich so that we can be generous on all occasions.
When we use God’s portion of our talents for His purposes and His Glory, we will discover the full riches of God’s grace.
Time spent for God in loving and ministering to others, and in getting to know God better by abiding in His Word, is the wisest investment of time we can make.
Above all, we dare not hold back obedience to God’s clear instruction and commands on how we are to live our lives to the fullest in Christ. Fullness and disobedience cannot coexist in the kingdom of God.
Father, as you have held no good thing back from me, help me to keep from holding back anything that you require of me. In Jesus’ name, Amen
