Micah 6

                            “Heaven Insurance”

   “The good life begins in the fear of GOD—Do that and you’ll know the blessing of GOD. His Hallelujah lasts forever” Psalm 111:10  (MSG)

    Some people seem to take out their insurance policy to heaven by receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, and then put the policy into a lock box or drawer to be cashed in when they die. 

     When we try to keep on doing life our way instead of God’s way after we have received Jesus Christ as Savior, we are going to miss out on many of the joys of the abundant life Christ has come to give us for now and forever.

      Eternal life does not begin the day we die physically and go to heaven.  It begins the hour we first believe when we die to sin and become alive in Christ through being born again.

     As born again believers, the reality of our conversion will be evident in the way we relate to God, to the world, ourselves, others, and to evil.  If we are to be faithful to the Great Commandment and Great Commission, we must become what Chip Ingram calls “Romans 12 Christians”. 

     When we have Christ in us as our hope of Glory, we will not be overcome by the cares and enticements of the World.  We will live in but not be controlled by the world’s standards.  

     As a “Romans 12 Christian” we will relate to ourselves in sober assessment and in the humility of the Cross.  We will love others as Christ loves us.

     Heaven can wait, while we enjoy the heavenly peace and joy of living fruitful lives fully pleasing to God; doing the business He has purposed for us to be about as policy holders in the Kingdom of God.   

   Father, keep me ever mindful of who I am in You, and let me live everyday as Your disciple.  In Jesus’ name, Amen
