John 14:2-3… In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (NKJV)
These words were spoken by Jesus to His disciples, to comfort them after Jesus told them He had to leave them to go and be with His Father in heaven. To the Christian who truly knows Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, this scripture should be comforting as well. Imagine Jesus preparing a guaranteed reservation for you forever, in His Fathers mansion in heaven !!
I came across the following scripture this morning in my Q/T reading, that brought the opening scripture to my mind… Psalm 63:3… Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. (NKJV)
David wrote chapter 63 from the Book of Psalms, along with 74 other chapters in Psalms. There is so much we can learn from David’s writing, which should be an encouragement to us all. God told us that David was a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22)…even after David’s adulterous love affair with Bathsheba, and David’s involvement with having Bathsheba’s husband Uriah killed, to cover up his heinous sin…2 Samuel 11…
The Apostle Paul had the same thoughts as David, about heaven being a better place than his current life here on earth. We see this very clearly, in…Philippians 1:21 & 23… For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. (NKJV)
I have to tell you, that as much as I love my wife, and my family…including my 3 children and 2 grandchildren…I am anxiously awaiting the time when the Lord calls me home, to meet Him face to face in heaven. There is no fear, or anxiety about death for me. This absolute supernatural peace in my life, which surpasses all mortal understanding (Philippians 4:6-7), is only possible because of the power of the Holy Spirit, through my personal one on One relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Do you have any fear or anxiety about your future death ?? It should be a non-factor in the life of a Christian, who is truly a Christian in God’s eyes…Romans 8:15-16… For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, (NKJV)
Christians become a child of God when they hear the Word (the gospel of Christ)…and they seek Jesus Christ to become their personal Lord and Savior. This occurs after they are drawn in by God…John 6:44… By God’s grace, through saving faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9)…sins are forgiven by God, as Christ’s perfect righteousness is imputed into the unredeemed sinner; and their sins are paid for by the shed blood of Jesus Christ at the cross…forgiving a lifetime of sins…Philippians 3:9 & 2 Corinthians 5:21…

Heavenly Father, Your Word is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…Hebrews 4:12-13… I pray Lord, that You would draw those that You don’t yet recognize as Your children, to Yourself…John 6:44… And that the truth from Your Word through obedience to the gospel of Your Son Jesus Christ, would set them free from Satan’s chains of bondage…John 8:32… I pray for this fullness of Christ in all of our lives, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
