Deuteronomy 11:13-14 “And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil”  (NKJV)
Putting our complete faith and trust in the Lord, all of the time…as we do our best to obey Him and to love Him with all of our heart, our mind, and our soul…is the essence of Jesus’ first and foremost important commandment for the Christian to follow, as penned by Mark, in…Mark 12:29-30
The old-time hymn “Trust and Obey” has been stuck in my mind all morning…  Here is one version of the hymn written by John H. Sammis (1846-1919)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q00TXBPl9i4  …And here is a link with the lyrics…  http://www.hymnsite.com/lyrics/umh467.sht
Looking to the Lord in every situation, I believe takes  time for the Christian to learn…  And if we can’t remember to come to the Lord for the little things…how are we going to remember to come to Him when it’s really important to do so…
Yesterday, I was looking for something for quite some time…  I finally asked the Lord for His help, and what I was looking for miraculously popped up before my eyes…  Don’t you know, that I had misplaced something else late in the afternoon (one of 3 nozzles to the power washer I was using), and spent 15-20 minutes looking for it…  I gave up for the day…  The next day, the first thing I did before looking once again for this missing nozzle, was to ask the Lord for His help…  I found the nozzle in about 2 minutes !!  You would think I would have remembered to ask the Lord for His help yesterday…  But how quick we forget to get the Lord involved…  (maybe it’s just me !!)
I believe we must make a conscious effort, if we are Christians…to put our pride, or our flesh, or what ever you want to call it aside…and seek the Lord’s help ALL of the time…  Once we are trained to come to Him, even for the little things…we just might remember to come to the Lord, when life’s trials and tribulations are about to sink us in the storms of life we will all have to pass through…
I sit here with a heavy heart, when I see people all around me who have not placed their life into the hands of the Lord, for their eternal destiny in heaven… We must place our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, as we seek Him to become our personal Lord and Savior, to become a Christian in God’s eyes to begin with…  (See the link at the end for more on God’s grace through saving faith alone in Jesus Christ…Ephesians 2:8-9)
But what about  Christians, who are, for any number of reasons, not walking with the Lord, as the opening words portray in the hymn…”Trust and Obey”… ??  Here are these important teaching words…“When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way!   While we do his good will, he abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey.”
Are you a Christian who is out of work ?? Did you have a recent death in your family, and just don’t know where you will find the strength to go on ?? Are you addicted to drugs or alcohol, or porn…and have no power to turn away from these addictions ?? If you are a Christian, the first thing you need to do, is get right with the Lord…

If you are not walking with the Lord, because you are living in sin…I believe that God will hear your prayers, but He  will not respond until you are again righteous in His sight…1 John 1:9

Psalm 34:17… The righteous cry outand the Lord hearsAnd delivers them out of all their troubles. (NKJV)
To finish today’s writing, I direct you to Dr. Charles Stanley’s audio, found @  http://www.intouch.org/broadcast/audio-archives  that he posted Sep. 20, 2013 – “The Message of the Storm”…
I can’t begin to do as good a job at explaining how important it is to look to the Lord for all things… Please make the time listen to Dr. Stanley, and heed his suggestions… You just might walk away with a new outlook on life !!
Heavenly Father, how quick we forget as Your children, how important it is to come to You for everything…  Once looking to You in all things become etched into our meager brains…Your Word tells us You will help Your obedient children through each and every storm of life… I pray for this ability to walk in Your will and Your ways for all of us…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills
