John 1:1-3… In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was withGod, and the WordwasGod. ² Hewas in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  (NKJV)

Did you know that the Trinity…God the Father…God the Son…and God the Holy Spirit, have existed from the beginning of Creation ??  We see the apostle John describing Jesus Christ as the Word…and that He was with God “in the beginning”, in the opening scripture…  

How do we know the Word is Jesus Christ ??  We know this because the apostle John reveals this to us, in…John 1:14… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the onlybegotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.  (NKJV)

We also see the apostle Paul revealing that Jesus Christ took part in the Creation, in…Colossians 1:15-16… Heis the image of the invisibleGod, the firstborn over all creation. ¹⁶ For byHimall things were created that are inheaven and that are onearth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. Allthings were createdthroughHim and forHim.  (NKJV)

And what about the Holy Spirit ??  We see the Holy Spirit also from the beginning, in…Genesis 1:2b… And theSpirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.  (NKJV)

The point of today’s writing is to emphasize how the Word of God is living and powerful…  These aren’t my words…  This is God’s Word, found in… Hebrews 4:12-13…  For the word of Godislivingandpowerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ¹³ And there is no creature hiddenfromHis sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyesof Himto whom wemust giveaccount.  (NKJV) 

Notice the words…“His sight” and “Himto whom wemust giveaccount”…  No one can hide from the living “word”…and to “Him” we must all end up being accountable for our life on earth, when we die… 

We also see this penned by the apostle John, about being judged by the “word” at our death, in…John 12:48…He who rejects Me, and does not receive Mywords, has that which judges him—thewordthatI have spoken will judgehim in the lastday.  (NKJV)

God’s Word is alive, because the Bible is literally…“God-breathed”…2 Timothy 3:16…  These are God’s very words to us, that were recorded by some 40 inspired writers of the Bible, who were moved by the Holy Spirit to pen God’s Word…2 Peter 1:19-21… 

There is absolutely nothing more important in the life of any human being, than the Living Word of God…  For true disciples of Jesus Christ, God’s Word becomes their most important possession…  More valuable than any gold or silver…Psalm 119:72…  Without God’s recorded Word, no one would come to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ…  The apostle Paul pens this, in…

Romans 10:13-15 & 17…   For “whoevercalls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” ¹⁴ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” ¹⁷ So then faithcomes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  (NKJV)

Friends, the Christian “faithcomes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”…  The “gospel of peace”, which the apostle Paul pens in this scripture…is the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…which all Christians have been commanded to share by Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20), with those around them in need of hearing the “good news” about how their sins may be forgiven… (See note at the end on God’s grace in forgiving sins)

So if you’re someone who never really spends much time reading the Bible…the next time you see your Bible just sitting there collecting dust…look at it as “The Living Word”, that has the power to transform any life, into a Spirit filled disciple of Jesus Christ…  For me, there really isn’t any possessions that I own, that come even close to God’s precious, and life changing Word… 

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your living Word would cut right to the very core of the soul of those that You don’t yet know as Your redeemed child…  I pray Lord, that they would first be drawn in by You (John 6:44)…and that they wouldn’t rest until Your Word, or by someone sharing Your Word, would urge them to respond to the “good news” of the gospel of Your Son Jesus Christ…  I pray for hearts and lives to be changed by You for an eternity, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
