Fear is used by Satan, as one of his best weapons to keep us from looking to the Lord, as the only way to put fear behind us… God doesn’t want His redeemed children to fear anything, except to maintain a reverent fear of Him… (See this link for “Fear of God” Bible verses… http://www.feargod.net/verses.php ) We see in the opening scripture, where God tells us not to fear, if He is our Father… But the first step in fighting fear is to be sure God is indeed your Father, and not Satan…John 8:44… {See note at the end for more on how to seek God’s grace to become His child, through saving faith alone in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9)…after we are first drawn in by God…John 6:44}
The apostle Paul reminds Christians about not having to fear, in… Romans 8:15-16… For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again tofear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The SpiritHimself bears witness with our spirit that wearechildren of God, (NKJV)
And the apostle John, who we believe has experienced the love of Christ for over 50 years when he penned this, tells us…1 John4:4… YouareofGod, little children, and haveovercome them, becauseHewho is inyou is greaterthanhe who is in the world. (NKJV)
My thoughts for today came from an audio sermon by Dr. Charles Stanley for January 17, 2014, that was titled…“When We are Fearful”… You can find it @ http://www.intouch.org/broadcast/today-on-radio Dr. Stanley tells us to go back and analyze what is making us fearful… And if we can get to the root of our fear, and it is Satan at work…all we have to do is ask the Lord to step in, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, Satan will flee…James 4:7-8… This is if we are walking with the Lord in spirit and in truth…John 4:23-24… Friends, I spent a day back on 1/17/2014, writing about how we as Christians must be walking with the Lord as an obedient child of God, to rid our lives of anxiety, hatred, anger, bitterness, and any other ungodly emotion caused by our own carnal flesh…or by Satan or any of his demon friends… It was titled…“Walking in the Truth”; and gives a link to my personal testimony about how my life has changed as a Christian, by finally submitting my life to the Lord… Go to www.Godsmanforever.com and type in 1/17/2014 into the search window…The Bible is filled with scripture penned by men of God who knew how to walk in spirit and in truth… The apostle Paul, who wrote half of the New Testament…pens this piece of scripture I quote day in and day out, because of its amazing truth in my own life… Philippians 4:6-7… Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpassesallunderstanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (NKJV)
God’s redeemed children can walk without fear or anxiety in their lives… But this God given blessing will only take place in the hearts and lives of God’s children who are obedience to God’s will and God’s ways… Heavenly Father, I pray Your Word will inspire all of Your children to grow closer to You, as hearts and lives are filled with love by the fullness of Your Son Jesus Christ… May we all experience the richest blessings You reserve for Your obedient children… I pray for this ability to be free of fear and anxiety in the lives of all of Your children, by the full power and protection of the Holy Spirit…as we walk in spirit and in truth… I pray for this faith to overcome fear, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen… Blessings in Christ, bruce r mills P.S.
