                       “Knowing Truth that Really Matters”
 
   “Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 (NLT)
 
      When Pilate asked Jesus: “what is truth”, he did not wait for or expect to get an answer. The truth of truth has been sought after and written about by some of the greatest minds down through the ages, and is still an unsolved mystery to many people.
 
        We have questions and theories about absolute truth, relative truth, moral truth, logical truth, scientific truth, and whether truth is subjective or objective.  Today’s emphasis on relative truth leaves people free to believe anything as they’re sincere.
 
       We Christians are blessed to know everything we will need to know about truth when we know Jesus as “the way, the truth, and the life,”  The revealed will of God should always be our standard of truth.
 
      The Holy Spirit will “guide us into all truth” as it pertains to knowing and doing the will of God.  As we seek God’s revealed truth in His Word, we will find that His truth never changes, and that we should find our truth in Jesus.
 
      Above all, we should not get carried away by the relative truths of man, but anchor deep in the truth of God and not only believe it, but also live by it.
 
      Only when we have the eternal truths of God as modeled and taught by Jesus, will we ever have the freedom to live above the false truths of the world, our flesh, and the devil…and be free from even death itself.
 
       Father, help me to be ever mindful of the truth that You died on the cross to save a wretch like me. Thank You for giving me truth I can believe and trust. In Jesus’ name, Amen
