Proverbs 3:5-6…  Trust in the Lordwithall your heart, And leannoton your ownunderstanding; Inall your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths(NKJV)

I have been thinking about writing on this opening scripture (written by the wise Solomon), since my men’s Bible study last Wednesday morning…  After reading these few verses (2 Peter 1:2-9) from my Q/T Bible reading the other morning, along with an audio sermon I listened to by Dr. Charles Stanley (both tying into this opening scripture), I had all I needed to “seal the deal”, so to speak, on today’s writing topic…

My last days writing was on the importance of not making promises or commitments that end up being broken for no good reason…to begin to establish integrity with-in your own family, amongst your friends, and in the eyes of the upper management at your place of employment…  It was titled…“Broken Promises” (3/07/2014)…  Being looked upon as a person who has integrity by all of those around you, is something that both believers as well as non-Christians should be striving to achieve…

But today, I focus on the redeemed child of God who God has graced with salvation, at the time the new Christian is indwelt with the Holy Spirit…  (See note at the end for more on God’s grace through saving faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ)…  At that moment in time, when the new believer is filled with the Holy Spirit by God…they will never be loved anymore, or any less by the Lord…  The shed blood of Jesus Christ at the cross has covered the believer’s sins…  Jesus’ death on the cross became a “once and for all” atonement for all of the sins…past…present…and future…of those who by God’s grace have been received into His family as a redeemed child of God…

The idea that the Christian has to maintain these acts of good works done in the name of the Lord (like going to church every week) to preserve, or to obtain God’s grace (and eventually a place in heaven when they die)…is found nowhere in the Bible…  This false, man made doctrine preached by many churches today, was warned against by Jesus, in…Matthew 7:21-23…  I spent 3 days writing about this false “Works Based Salvation” back on 10/09/2013…10/11/2013…and 10/14/2013, that can be found by going to www.Godsmanforever.com and typing these 3 dates as shown, one at a time into the search window…

I urge all readers to stop here, and listen to Dr. Stanley’s 20 minute audio sermon from 3/06/2014, that he titles…“Christ in You, Your Hope – Part 2”, found @  http://www.intouch.org/broadcast/today-on-radio…  If you have the time, listen to both parts…but Part 2 will explain 85% of what you will need to hear (if you are a Christian) to possibly change your understanding of the hope that Christ living with-in you will provide…  Dr. Stanley references scripture from…Colossians 1:24-27…that wasn’t announced in the beginning of Part 2…  Here is the link for this important scripture describing this hidden mystery that is revealed to a Spirit filled Christian…   http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=col1%3A24-29&version=NKJV;KJV

The mystery the apostle Paul describes which has been hidden in Old Testament times, is explained in…Colossians 1:26-27…  the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, butnowhas been revealed to Hissaints. 27 TothemGodwilled to makeknown what are the riches of the glory of thismystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ inyou, thehope of glory.  (NKJV)

My friends, I believe that there are many Christians today who are not Spirit filled disciples of Jesus Christ, who have no idea what they are missing through the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit that God has given them as their life long, live-in Helper…John 14:26…(if they are indeed a Christian in God’s eyes)…  The fact that Christ is living with-in the heart, mind, and soul of His redeemed children, waiting for them to submit to His total control, is still a mystery to some…

But we clearly see this to be the case in the scripture above…Christ inyou, and elsewhere in the Bible, in…Romans 8:9-10…and in…Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is nolongerI who live, butChristlivesinme; and the life which I now live in the fleshI live by faith in the Son of God, who lovedme and gaveHimself for me.  (NKJV)

All Christians are called by the Lord to become followers (disciples) of Jesus Christ…Luke 14:26-27…  Some new believers are graced with salvation by God, and are lucky enough to be helped along by older, more mature Christians…  They are taught the importance of regular prayer to confess sins (1 John 1:9), and the need to be spiritually feeding upon God’s Word (hopefully daily…Matthew 4:4), to learn and grow in their spiritual knowledge and wisdom of exactly what God requires of them, in order to live their lives as true disciples of Jesus Christ…  They attend a Bible believing and teaching church that encourages them in their Christian walk, as they learn and experience what living for Christ is all about…

Other new Christians don’t find the right church that is teaching the right biblical doctrine…  And without the fellowship and love of fellow believers in a church that preaches Jesus Christ as its head…they flounder, and fall prey to Satan’s temptations and their own carnal flesh…

I spent a day writing what I titled…“What is A Disciple of Jesus Christ ??”, that can be found by typing 11/18/2013 into the search window @ www.Godsmanforever.com…  My friends, becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is best accomplished by what Jesus describes as abiding in His Word, in…John 8:31-32…  Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32  “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  (NKJV)

Abiding in Jesus’ Word, means the true disciple of Christ understands, obeys, and practices Jesus’ teachings that can be learned by habitually spending time reading, digesting (Matthew 4:4), and then putting into practice what Jesus and His Word reveals as the inerrant truth God wants all of His children to understand and obey…

When the diligent disciple of Jesus Christ finally understands and experiences what “Walking in the Spirit”…Galatians 5:16…or “putting on the Lord Jesus Christ”…Romans 13:13-14…or being filled with (totally controlled by) the Holy Spirit…Ephesians 5:18-20…are all about…there will be no more mystery of the eternal hope that Christ living with-in the Spirit filled Christian will bring…

This supernatural power of the Holy Spirit with-in a Spirit filled Christian, will also bring the love of Christwhich passes our mortal knowledge… Ephesians 3:16-20…the fullness of joy when the Christian is filled with Christ… John 15:11Colossians 1:11…&…Jude 1:24…and a supernatural peace, that goes beyond our mortal understanding…Philippians 4:6-7…given to the obedient Christian who is living for the Lord…

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your living and powerful Word (Hebrews 4:12-13) would cut right to the very core of the soul of all of Your children who are missing out on the rewards You promise to those of Your children who diligently seek You…Hebrews 11:6…  I pray Lord, that all of Your redeemed children will taste and see that living for You is so very good…Psalm 34:8…  I pray for this fullness of Christ in all of our lives, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills
