“Minimum Compliance”

“I wrote to you as I did to test you and see if you would fully comply with my instructions.” 2 Corinthians 2:9 NLT

There is a lot of compliance required in business, travel, homes, military, construction, etc. Detailed regulations abound and spell out in detail what is required for compliance. Often there are ideal and minimum compliance requirements.

One of the biggest problems with “cheap grace” is that it misleads people into settling for the minimum blessings of their faith instead of the abundant life that Jesus came to give all who believe in Him.

Eternal life is a free gift of grace given to all who accept Jesus Christ as Savior. It is not merely a “get out of jail” card to get us into heaven when we die. Eternal life begins the instant we believe, and the abundance of God’s grace becomes available every day of life on this earth.

This raises the question of whether we want to live the abundant life with maximum blessings, or the life with minimum blessings.

It is interesting to note how often those who say that they don’t have to go to church, Bible study, or give their money are really saying that they don’t want to.

The call to salvation is a call to bearing the fruit of repentance the fruit of righteousness, which is the evidence that we are really saved.

In view of the great price Jesus paid for our salvation, all of God’s redeemed children should live to show our true appreciation by complying with God’s commands to love Him and others, and to make disciples.

We should never devalue the amazing and generous grace of God by minimum compliance with the way He taught us to live.

Father, help me to seek to always do more to thank and glorify you, and never less. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Seek the Lord [inquire for Him, inquire of Him, and require Him as the foremost necessity of your life], all you humble of the land who have acted in compliance with His revealed will and have kept His commandments; seek righteousness, seek humility [inquire for them, require them as vital]. It may be you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger.”
Zephaniah 2:2 AMP

I write to you [perfectly] confident of your obedient compliance, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.
Philemon 1:21 AMP
