Luke 12:4-5… “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!” (NKJV)

I read the opening scripture, in my Q/T (Quiet time reading) the other day… I then listened to one of my favorite pastors, Pastor John Piper, in his short Q & A daily app for that day, posted on 5/16/14…”Is God Everywhere and Absent from Hell?” (Episode 343) #askpastorjohn [See (1)]

Questions about the existence of hell have been debated for a couple of thousand years… It is amazing to listen to the misconceptions people have developed in their own mortal minds about hell… But the Bible is clear that hell not only exists…anyone who does not know God before they die, through a personal one on One relationship established with His Son Jesus Christ (John 8:24), will be headed to hell for an eternity…

Here is other of scripture about eternal life in heaven, or separation from God in hell, found in…Revelation 21:6-8… “And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (NKJV)

And this last eye opening piece of scripture penned by the apostle Paul, which paints a bleak picture for those that never become a Christian in God’s eyes…

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9… in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (NKJV)

It’s only by God’s saving grace, that those who seek the Lord Jesus Christ with godly sorrow…with ALL of their heart…ALL of their mind…and ALL of their soul…will be forgiven of their lifetime of sins…and become a redeemed child of God…

Do you have a fear of the Lord ?? Has anyone shared the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ with you ?? Understanding and obeying “the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ”, is what must be done by the unbeliever…after God has drawn them to Himself…John 6:44… (2)

I would urge anyone who doubts that hell exists…to listen to pastor John Piper’s 6:46 minute audio, (1) with much biblical scripture, that will hopefully open their eyes to the reality that hell is real…and bring meaning to the fear of the Lord that Jesus speaks about in the opening scripture…

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your living and powerful Word would instill fear into those who doubt the existence of heaven and hell… I also pray Lord, that You would draw these unbelievers to Yourself (John 6:44)…and that Your Word would be revealed to them in a loving way, that would plant the seed toward salvation that only You can nourish into a new child for Your kingdom… I pray for hearts and lives to be changed by You for an eternity, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
