Are Your Eyes on Christ?

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” ~ Hebrews 12:1 NKJV

How often in my life have I failed to look unto Jesus? When things went terribly wrong did I focus on the problems or did I look to the problem solver? When I sinned and missed the mark, did I wallow in my self-recrimination, or… did I look unto Jesus for forgiveness and cleansing? When I made a decision with all the best intentions and best advice and yet things still turned out bad, did I worry and brood about it or did I look unto Jesus?

Far too often in my life I have focused on the situation and problems and not the source of all our help. I need to “seek first the Kingdom of God” in all things. I need to remember that Jesus is the “Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end”. BEFORE I start something I need to seek Jesus, not wait until the choices I make are falling apart and then run to him for help. I praise God he is always there to help me clean up my messes BUT…if I had Looked unto Jesus…first, how much better off would I be? How much closer to him would I be today?

Please think about an end of the year offering. With your generous donation, Job 31 is able to reach more people, create more resources, and help disciple more men. With plans of men’s conferences for 2015 and publishing projects, it is critical for us to meet our financial goals. Help our non-profit ministry to end a good first year by supporting us with your tax-free donation.

Jesus is the ultimate source of all our provisions in body, soul and spirit. We are to:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” ~ Phil 4:6 NKJV

Once we have presented our petitions to the Lord we need to trust him to meet the need in his sovereign timing and methods. He knows us and our needs from beginning to end and knows what we should have to accomplish his will in our lives far, far better than we can ever conceive.

May the Lord grant us the Grace to always “look unto Jesus” at the beginning of all we do and to continue to look to him until the end.

Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus | Helen H. Lemmel

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
 No light in the darkness you see?
 There’s light for a look at the Savior,
 And life more abundant and free!

Refrain:
 Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
 Look full in His wonderful face,
 And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
 In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
 He passed, and we follow Him there;
 O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conqu’rors we are!

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
 Believe Him, and all will be well:
 Then go to a world that is dying,
 His perfect salvation to tell!
