“Who Really Brings Good Things to Life?”

“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10b

With all due respect to General Electric and their “We bring good things to life” award-winning advertising slogan, they can’t hold a candle to Jesus when it comes to bringing good things to life.

General Electric makes products that make our life more comfortable and convenient, but the really good things of life begin with what God brought to life in His Son, Jesus Christ.

GE does a good job of cleaning clothes, but Jesus did the great job of cleansing our souls. GE heat pumps warm our homes, but God gave the Holy Spirit to warm our hearts. GE jet engines might power us into the sky, but God’s Spirit powers us up, up and away beyond the sky into eternal life. GE’s bulbs may light up a room, but Jesus lights up the World!

God longs for us to have a relationship with Him through faith in Jesus Christ. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) God came to earth as Jesus Christ to bring us the good things of eternal life.

Jesus Christ fulfilled the righteous demands of the law for us and brought in a New Covenant of Grace. He brings forever forgiveness, total acceptance, unconditional love, security, and significance for now and forever to all who will receive Him by faith.

Jesus brings Son ship with the Father, peace that surpasses all understanding, and a life filled with the assurance of the bliss of heaven. He brings friendship, joy, and the love of others.

He brings the promise of working all things for our good. He brings the way, the truth, and the life into our lives, when we enter into a personal relationship with Him.

Father, thank You for bringing the good things of life to me through Your Son and my Savior Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen
