Today is another day that the LORD has made. It is important to get off to a good start. Starting your day hearing what God has to say is the best way I know to begin it. I believe listening to God with a heart to obey Him brings us to a good starting point. I even personally believe that it is more important for me to hear God than for God to hear me. Some folks get that turned around at times. They desire to do all the talking while expecting God to do all the listening.

Often, I am too quick to call upon God to hear me. I need to hear Him. For you see, when I set my heart to hear Him with understanding, I believe God always allows that to happen. I believe in prayer. And David was a man of prayer too. But our prayers always reach the ears of God when we pray in accordance with His will. And we can’t do that until we first have heard from Him.

This morning I did my best to hear from God. I spent some quality time listening to Him with a heart to obey. And that gave me a good and quality start to this day. My prayer for you this morning is that God will give you a heart to listen, to hear, and to obey. For you see, too many will start their day today by attempting to give God a list of instructions and marching orders. And that just doesn’t work. For He is God! And we need to hear Him!
