James 4:13-14Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Christians need to keep one thing in mind if we want to please our Father in heaven…God wants us to come to Him first for everything…He doesn’t like anyone predicting our future; which rules out our using psychics, fortune tellers, and daily horoscopes…even for fun…

Deuteronomy 18:10-12aThere shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD,

God want’s us to rely on Him for everything…When you think about it, this really does make our live less stressful…As Christians, we shouldn’t be worrying about tomorrow, because God promises to take care of us… He doesn’t want us to make any plans on our own without acknowledging that He is in charge of every detail of our future… It’s sort of like my father when we were younger and living at home…As long as he was paying the bills and supplying all our needs, we did things his way…

God wants us to depend on Him in exactly the same way… Seek God first for everything, including our plans for tomorrow; and live our lives always trying to abide by the will of God…confessing and repenting of any sins as soon as they occur (1 John 1:9)… When we think about the future, James tell us this in…James 4:15Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” (NKJV)

The hardest part about putting God first, and including Him in every decision, is getting use to remembering to do it… Once we remember to think of God first, it should become second nature to us… Relying on God instead of ourselves will lighten our load, as I wrote just yesterday…

God promises to take care of all of our needs, but He does have one stipulation…Jesus tells us His Fathers requirements inMatthew 6:31-34“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Heavenly Father, we are ever so thankful for Your promises of taking care of all of our needs, after seeking You first…  Help us Lord, to obtain the righteousness provided by Your grace, strictly through faith alone in Jesus Christ…Ephesians 2:8-9… Open the eyes Father, of those that are too proud to realize that their best situation is for You to direct their lives… I pray Father, that this worldly stumbling block would be removed by You, helping everyone see that Your Son Jesus is “The Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6), and I will thank You in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
