Christians are either living for Christ 24/7, or they are drifting away from the Lord…  God wants all of His children to be focused on Him; and to always pay attention to the guidance of the Holy Spirit God has given to all of His children, as a lifelong Helper…John 14:26…

Since each and every Christian will in no way be able to keep from sinning…we will all be found drifting, every time we sin…  The key to “Walking in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16), to the absolute best of our ability, is to “Keep a Short Leash” on our sins…  Each and every sin must be confessed, truly repented of, and turned from as soon as possible, to again become righteous in God’s sight…1 John 1:9…

There are many reasons why Christians will drift away from the Lord…  And the farther away they drift from Him…the closer they will be to those still living in the world of sin and shame, with Satan as their father…

John 8:44…  You are of your  father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.  (NKJV)
