Ecclesiastes 11:9a…&…12:1… Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; 12:1… Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”: (NKJV)
Today’s writing is draw from a few recent events in my life…including this opening scripture I read in my quiet time reading this morning (Oct. 2nd), written by the wise Solomon… I have sort of the same story to tell you (without the riches), that Solomon pens in the Book of Ecclesiastes…where he reveals that all the vast material possessions, and power, and the fulfillment of every personal desire that came to his eyes (Ecc 2:10), were all in vain… Life is not about stuff !! It is about living for the Lord Jesus Christ…
I had a sweet young woman come to my door the other day, to hand out some political propaganda before the upcoming elections… We got to talking about life…and when led to speak about my faith, the conversation turned to what became our mutual praise of God, and His saving grace… I was led to tell her that being a “born again” Christian doesn’t stop at receiving God’s unending grace and mercy…
I was so happy to see a younger person who knew the Lord as their personal Savior… But I wanted to impress upon her not to make the same mistake that I did… After salvation, I had somehow taken back control from the Holy Spirit…and my joy and my God given peace were gone… Anyone interested in my sad story…along with what may be learned about how God can help us to live walking consistently (though not perfectly) in the Spirit…can go to www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com and type in 10/04/2013 into the search window… May God be glorified through His help in the overcoming of my trials…
I told this young woman about “Gods group” on Facebook…and much to my surprise, she sent me a message telling me she enjoyed our conversation… I responded with a message of how living for Christ can help the young Christian in ways they never thought or dreamed were possible…if they did their absolute best to live in God’s will for their lives… I also quoted her the following scripture…
Ephesians 3:20…Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, (NKJV)
I would urge anyone who looks at the words “born again” (John 3:3) that I used above, with anything less than positive thoughts about being a child of God…describing the true Christian who has been filled with the Holy Spirit by God Himself (John 14:26)…to consider spending some time in the link at the end, about receiving God’s grace through saving faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ…Ephesians 2:8-9…
For all of those who have been graced with God’s free gift of salvation…I would urge you to remain focused on the Lord Jesus Christ each and every day…with a moment by moment mentality of being conscious to obeying the leading by the Holy Spirit, given to all of God’s redeemed children… There will be nothing too difficult…no trial too severe…no challenge that the Spirit filled Christian will not be able to overcome, with the peace and the power of God that only a Christian living for the Lord will be able to experience…
This being continuously filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-20), is the power that the apostle Paul is speaking about in the scripture above…“the power that works in us“… When God is left in charge of the Christian’s life…there is nothing that man can do to interfere with God’s will for the Christian’s life…Romans 8:31…
“The Rest of the Story”, that the famous radio broadcaster Paul Harvey came to be known by, with his…”Rest of the Story” segments…can be read in the scripture prior to…Ephesians 3:20…that I quoted above… (Here is the link to info on Paul Harvey, for U ancient readers interested in bringing back old memories… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Harvey )
Ephesians 3:16-19… that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through HisSpirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 toknow the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedinglyabundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, (NKJV)
I believe this is some of the most moving scripture in the Bible about the fullness of the love of Christ with-in the believer, that I pray will give encouragement to all Christians who read and apply it to their lives…
Heavenly Father, I pray that Your Word would cut right to the core of the soul of each and every reader, like a two-edged sword…Hebrews 4:12-13… I pray that those who don’t know You through a personal one on One relationship established through the gospel of Christ, will be drawn in by You (John 6:44) to seek Jesus Christ as Lord, while He may still be found…Isaiah 55:6… I pray that we can all be filled by the Love of Christ, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
Blessings in Christ, bruce r mills
P.S. Here is a link for this most important days writing, about how God’s grace is received to become a Christian in God’s eyes; through understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, after first being drawn in by God…John 6:44…https://godsmanforever.wordpress.com/2013/07/11/gods-group-thoughts-for-7112013-the-truth-about-sin/
