“Open Their Eyes, Lord”

(revised from 7/12/2013)

Job 28:12…&…28… “But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? 28 And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’” (NKJV)

In Chapter 28 in the Book of Job, we find Job explaining to his friends, that maybe God’s wisdom was beyond their comprehension. This fits right in with what I wrote about back on 7/11/2013. It was titled…“The Truth about Sin”…and can be found by going to http://www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com and typing 7/11/2013 into the search window.

Spiritual wisdom is only obtained when God reveals it to the unbeliever. Until God open’s the eyes of the unbeliever, and draws them in (John 6:44), scripture from the Bible will seem like foolishness to them. The Apostle Paul pens this, in…1 Corinthians 1:18… For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (NKJV)

The Apostle Paul speaks of this inability to recognize that one is still an unredeemed sinner, as being blinded by Satan, in… 2 Corinthians 4:4… whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (NKJV)

There is only one way for a person to be accepted into heaven, after they pass on from this life. The Apostle Paul reveals this in the passage above, when he pens this… “lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, should shine on them.”

Jesus tells us point blank, how we get into heaven, in… John 14:6… Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (NKJV) The “way” is through understanding and obedience of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… (See link at the bottom for more on God’s grace) The “truth” is found in the Word of God, and it will set the sinner free from Satan’s chains of bondage to sin…John 8:32… “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (NKJV) And the “life” that Jesus speaks about is eternal life in heaven with His Father… (NKJV)

The Bible can’t be much clearer about the need to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we read this eye opening scripture, penned by the Apostle Paul, in…

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (NKJV)

Once the unredeemed sinner understands that they can in no way save themselves from eternal damnation (through the Holy Spirits help)…their hearts and minds are open to hearing the truth from God’s Word. Seeds can be planted by believers, who share their own testimony and/or the gospel of Jesus Christ with those that are not yet graced with salvation. I see this as seeds as being planted in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th soil that Jesus teaches us about, in His parable of the 4 soils, in…Matthew 13:1-23…Luke 8:4-15…&…Mark 4:1-20…

It is only the 4th soil, that grows the seed in fertile ground, that God ends up redeeming as a child of God, which produces fruit…Matthew 13:23… “But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” (NKJV)

I spent a day writing about the seed planted in the 4th soil, which was fertile ground that God used to produce His child, that I titled…“The Perfect Seed”…that can be read by going to the following link… https://www.facebook.com/notes/gods-group/gods-group-thoughts-for-3192012-the-perfect-seed/10150605387126437

Salvation is a gift of grace from God, through saving faith alone in Jesus Christ; which is clearly explained in…

Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. (NKJV)

This scripture reiterates what I posted back on 7/11/2013…that salvation is “not of works” which are our good works done in the name of the Lord (like going to church every week), which some churches teach will forgive our lifetime of sins…as Jesus warns us about in the following eye opening scripture.

Matthew 7:21-23“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (NKJV)

‘I never knew you; depart from Me, is the Lord telling unbelievers, that He didn’t know them as His redeemed children. And they were being turned away from the gates of heaven, when is too late to become a Christian in God’s eyes.

“And to depart from evil is understanding” from the opening scripture, occurs when the redeemed Christian is filled with the Holy Spirit. Their eyes have been un-blinded by God, and they become a new creature in Christ, where they have turned from their old sinful life, to a new life…with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The Apostle Paul pens this, in…

2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)

Friends, you are deceiving yourselves, if you believe you are a Christian, and there is no change in your way of living. The Holy Spirit enters the heart, mind, and soul of the true believer in Christ. There will be dramatic changes in the priorities of one’s life. Christ should become the main focus of the Christian…and their material possessions should become less and less important. Past sins should be all but gone…if the Christian is now living for the Lord.

Will the Christian still sin ?? Yes, but if the Christian matures through progressive sanctification…they will hopefully be in a continuous state of being conformed into the image of Christ…Romans 8:29… Over time, by always trying to obey the urging of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16)…by being fed (hopefully daily) by the Word of God (Matthew 4:4)…through constant prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17)…and through fellowship with other believers in a church body that preaches and teaches God’s Word…Hebrews 10:24-25…the Spirit filled Christian will have abundance in every part of their life…John 10:10…

Heavenly Father, Your Word is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…Hebrews 4:12-13… I pray Lord, that You would draw those that You don’t yet recognize as Your children, to Yourself…John 6:44… And that the truth from Your Word through obedience to the gospel of Your Son Jesus Christ, would set them free from Satan’s chains of bondage…John 8:32… I pray for this fullness of Christ in all of our lives, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ, bruce

Here is a link for this most important days writing, about how God’s grace is received to become a Christian in God’s eyes; through understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, after first being drawn in by God…John 6:44… https://godsmanforever.wordpress.com/2013/07/11/gods-group-thoughts-for-7112013-the-truth-about-sin/

    Hi Bruce…

I appreciate your explanation of the way of salvation that is based upon repentance and faith in Christ, which is brought about by the Lord and His direct intervention in our life. Thanks for consistently presenting the truths of the Word to us. Lord bless you my friend.
