‘The glorified body of the “born again” Christian’
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself.
Philippians 3:21
Our present body is subject to all kinds of influences. We get sick, we get injured, and we experience decay. And we all feel pain. But God is going to fix this mortal body of ours and make it fit for heaven. Will there really be a bodily existence for the people of God in Heaven? The answer is YES!
When Christ takes us to Heaven, He completes our salvation by giving to us a glorified body. It will not be weak, it won’t be corruptible, and it will be immortal. The reason He does this for us is that our present bodies are not fit for eternal life in Heaven. We need to take care of this temporary tent we live in on earth called the body. But when we see that body is wearing out or decaying, we need not worry about it, because after all, this down here is just a temporary state we must endure for only a very short while in God’s time.
As Christians, we are to look for, long for, and live for the return of Christ, because HE IS COMING! At when He comes, because He is able to subdue all things unto Himself, you and I are getting a brand new, incorruptible, immortal and glorified body. It’s going to be wonderful.
