“Celebrate Easter Sunday every day”
And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted. Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth which was crucified. He is risen. He is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.
Mark 16:6
This coming Lord’s Day, on Sunday morning, our Bible Class will complete our study of the gospel of Mark, if the Lord is willing. It has been an especially wonderful study for me personally. The whole book has been leading up to His death and His resurrection from the dead. How exciting it must have been for people to realize that all that Jesus told them concerning His death and bodily resurrection had happened, exactly like He had proclaimed.
I’m going to say something this morning that may be hard for some to comprehend. But Christians will truly and solidly understand these words: EVERYDAY for the Christian, it is the right time to celebrate Easter! I’m celebrating it today. And I celebrated it yesterday too! You see, some of the most powerful words in all of the Bible are contained in this verse of scripture. The words are: “He is risen. He is not here! Behold the place where they laid Him.” The tomb of Christ where He was buried was empty that Sunday morning. And it remains empty this morning, and for all eternity.
This morning I give praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father for the empty tomb of Christ. Some people will never believe what God accomplished on the cross at Calvary for our sins. And some will never believe that HE is risen from the dead. But because I personally believe it and trust in the power and accuracy of the written Word of God, this morning I have peace. For you see, He is risen from the dead and He alone is LORD. And for that reason, true believers in Christ shall never experience eternal death. And that is why I celebrate EASTER all over again today. And if Christ tarries, I will do so again tomorrow. We shall never die, because HE LIVES!
