“The Way to the Father”

The account in John below is titled the “Way to the Father”.  Below Jesus claims to be God and that He and the Father are one.

This portion of scripture is used many times at funerals “In my Father’s house…”, saying that people who die go to Heaven. He is preparing a place for you. The only caveat is that you need to BELIEVE in Jesus Christ. People who do not believe that Jesus was the gift of God the Father to us, and have not accepted His gift, will not enter the kingdom of God.

Jesus couldn’t have stated it more clearly in verse 6, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life…No one comes to the Father except through Him.

If you don’t believe that Jesus is Lord, your Lord and Savior, then there isn’t a place for you in Heaven.

John 14:

The Way to the Father

1 “Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?

3 If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.

4 You know the way to where I am going.”

5 “Lord,” Thomas said, “we don’t know where you’re going. How can we know the way?”

6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

7 If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
