“From Catholicism to Christianity !!”

As many of you know, I was raised in a Catholic home like many of you. I don’t know about you but I felt that I had to do a lot of good things in life to get to Heaven. That God would like me better than someone else who may not be as good. I was trying to climb the goodness ladder one rung at a time.

The truth of the matter in my simple understanding was that if I died it better be on a Saturday, after I confessed my sins to the priest, or Sunday after communion. Because I knew during the week I was going to sin and lead a lifestyle that wasn’t pleasing to God. But I was still a Catholic and I felt that gave me special favors with God.

Not till many years later, I attended a Church service where the Pastor taught directly from the Bible. Word by word, line by line, verse by verse. I started attending this church regularly because in all my years as a Catholic I never opened up a Bible. What an experience.

The one verse of the Bible which spoke to me was Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”  (NKJV)

It’s God’s Grace that saved me; it’s God’s Grace that saves us. It is a gift from God. How? By God sending His Son, the Lord Jesus, and His redemptive work on the Cross, not of our good deeds. We were all born into the sin of Adam. We are all born in sin. Jesus is the only person who can redeem us from our sin, because He is without sin. He took on the sin of the world at the cross.

Many religions have a god. Not all religions have Jesus, If they do, they believe he was a good person, teacher, or prophet. They do not believe in Him as the Son of God. That’s where we are different. Jesus said in John 14:6: “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  (NKJV)   Believing in Jesus is the only way to come to God. Jesus also says in John 10:30, “I and My Father are one.”  (NKJV)

Considering the times we are living in, I believe we are in the ‘end times’, and it may not be long before Jesus returns. The first time He came to Save, the next time He will come to judge. You don’t want to experience His wrath.

Now is the time to truly repent of your sins. Ask God for His forgiveness and accept the gift He provided, Jesus The Christ, the Anointed One, The Messiah, Our Lord and Savior. Turn your life over to Him and believe. This is the only way to Heaven, through Jesus Our Lord, The Way, The Truth and The Life.
